Braised Red Cabbage with Apple and Onion的做法步骤图

用料  

1 tablespoon butter
1 medium onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 Gala or Fuji apple, halved, cored, and sliced
1 head red cabbage (2 pounds), cored, quartered, and thinly sliced
Coarse salt and ground pepper
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
4 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup water

Braised Red Cabbage with Apple and Onion的做法  

  1. In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot, melt butter over medium.

  2. Add onion and apple; cook, stirring, until onion softens, 4 to 6 minutes.

  3. Stir in red cabbage and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Add vinegar, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil; reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until cabbage is tender, 20 to 25 minutes.

  5. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar.

小贴士

自用菜谱,用来记录。
用了一个苹果,感觉切的不够细。洋葱有点大了,用的有点多,但是最后也吃不出来。有点着急,用中火煮了10分钟就拿出来吃了,紫甘蓝多煮一会儿应该会更好。
没有apple cider用了balsamic,少放了一些盐和糖。
